The Rt. Hon. Sir Mathew Thorpe ended his judicial career
as Head of International Family Justice.

Over 8 years from 2005-2013 he travelled extensively, particularly within the E.U. In working to bring Austria into the International Judicial Network he made firm friendships with his Austrian counterparts and developed a deep love of Austrian history, culture and scenery.

That led him to devote himself to walking all the pilgrim paths to Compostela within the Austrian lands. His pilgrimage he recorded in his first book, A Divided Heart.
